The Story So Far

The tree was felled in 2003. Unfortunately it had to be felled at very short notice as soon as the danger to the public had been established. It was sawn at Lothian Trees and Timber just outside Dalkeith and there the timber sat for the next three years. The wood slowly dried in stacks in the open air before being more thoroughly dried in a dehumidified container over a period of a few months.

As the work of producing pieces from the tree makes progress we’ll be adding more images and descriptions here until the project culminates in 2008.
